Who can you trust to write or edit for you?

What does a good writer look like?

(hint: glasses are often involved.)

Hi. I’m Marguerite Pigeon, the principal at Carrier Communications. My life is all about writing.

I bring precision, passion, and efficiency to every document that crosses my desk.

My training as a journalist, combined with my MFA in creative writing (UBC), position me to assist with a wide variety of projects. I also write my own books of poetry and fiction, so I understand first-hand how tough it is to write well.

Outside of work, I am an intrepid walker and swimmer. Originally from Blind River, in Northern Ontario, I live with my family in Strathcona, one of Vancouver’s oldest settler neighbourhoods.

I recognize that this land has a much longer history and has always belonged to the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. I am grateful to live and work here.

When authors or editors are happy, I know I’ve reached my goal.

Working with Marguerite on two book manuscripts was delightful. She did a superb job editing my writing for orthography, style, clarity, structure, and content. She is meticulous, super reliable, punctual, quickly responds to queries, and offers feedback that’s clear, sensitive, and helpful. I cannot recommend her more highly.

Marguerite Pigeon has been working with me on various articles, chapters, and book projects for the last decade. I appreciate her warm encouragement and great contributions to my research. Her edits and insights epitomize her competence and agility in critical thinking and writing. I consider her an excellent editor and true intellectual.

It’s a great pleasure to work with Marguerite. Her in depth analysis and insights and very helpful suggestions on two full-length fiction manuscripts gave my work the boost it was looking for. She’s published excellent works of literature herself and I recommend her to anyone seeking a fresh perspective.
